The veteran teachers I've talked to like to encourage students to watch general conference by playing games. DeAnn and Brent review points from the talks in a jeopardy style game. Paula A says, "At October and April [conference] we also gave mini prizes for noting [scripture mastery] used by speakers." Fun! Here are some great ideas at the RedHeadedHostess. She gave all her students a card that had a blank for a question and answer that was handled during Conference. Students returned to class with the cards, and I assume they played a review game or discussed the questions.
