April: Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer
This is our Children's Sacrament Meeting Presentation monthly and weekly theme help section. Find object lessons, music, sharing time ideas, clipart, and much more to help you with this month's LDS Primary theme from the Children's Sacrament Meeting Presentation booklet.
Primary Weekly Themes: April 2011
- Jesus Christ was chosen to be our Savior.
- Jesus Christ is the perfect example for me.
- Through the Atonement of Christ all mankind may be saved.
- Jesus Christ was resurrected, and I will be, too.
20 minute Music Time
- The song to teach during Primary Music Time in April is your choice. You may choose any song you like from the Children's Songbook to practice.
If you've got ideas on how to teach this song please comment below!
Scripture
We believe that through the Atonement of Christ all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. (Article of Faith 3)
Jenny's Tips
The song this month is unassigned and you may practice any songs you like. However, I'd limit myself to the 3 songs already assigned, or if the children have learned those songs well, move ahead to new songs.
This month's theme is timed to match the Easter holiday season. Primary leaders can use holiday festivities to emphasize the Primary theme this month: that Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer. Springtime is a natural time to talk about renewal, rebirth, redemption, and repentance.
As an aside, I've been saying for years it wouldn't kill us to plan some of these themes to coincide with our holiday season. This year they are planning themes that way. Hooray! Finally someone at Church headquarters is as smart as me! Ha!
