Time Capsules and Treasure Chests

Here are my time capsule pages we made for a time capsule activity. I tried to include spiritual things and fun things for the girls to include in their time capsules.

We took digital photos of our class, put their names ton the photo, and gave a copy to each class member. Then we put the filled out cards and photos in a container we bought from the dollar store. You might make this a series of activities by having the youth make a wooden treasure chest. Here are some simple treasure chest plans, a Pirate looking chest, and a traditional chest.

I’ve seen time capsule themes based on planning for a future temple marriage (included writing a letter to your future spouse). Usually these include a white hankerchief and poem.

The time capsule I did in Young Women’s had a small notebook with a page that I wrote my age on. Then I wrote some goals I hoped to have accomplished by that age. It was fun to get that notebook from my old YW leader a few years back! Some of the goals I had actually hit early!

The ages went like this: 15 (my age at the time), 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 30, 45, 60, 100.
