Relief Society “Souper” Saturday for a Cause

This unit’s Relief Society held a canned food drive for Super Saturday in support of a local domestic violence shelter. Soups were served as a meal (making it a “Souper” Saturday), and a simple craft as a gift for the women in the shelter

was created. Women were given a list of items that the shelter was in need of that they could donate along with a cute invitation.

This Relief Society Service Project was the largest food drive the domestic violence shelter had ever received from a single source! It was a fun and easy service project that everyone could participate in. Great RS Christmas activity!

Here’s a cute idea for a Relief Society Christmas party invitation — the one that was used for this Relief Society service project. The maker used part of an inexpensive garland and hot glued it to each invitation. She used raffia for the bow and bits of other decorations to add some color. The paper used is just regular copy paper from the unit library.
