All That Glitters Is Not Gold - YW Camp Theme
Each ward/level chooses a precious metal or gem (other than gold) as their theme, i.e. The Diamond Divas, The Ruby Reds, etc.
Workshop ideas: "A Diamond in the Rough"(discovering and sharing your personal talents), "Lay Up Your Treasures in Heaven" (Choice & Accountability), "Healthy, Wealthy & Wise" (Keeping our minds and bodies clean), and "Polish and Shine" (strengthening our testimonies).
Activities/Crafts: Making beaded bracelts, Painting jewelry boxes, decorating foam picture frames with craft gems, etc.
Games: Rumpelstiltskin Mad Libs. Take the fairy tale of Rumpelstitskin and omit several words. Split girls into groups. Do not tell them what the story is called. Simply give them a list of words needed (noun, verb, adj., etc.) Once they have filled in all of the blanks, read each groups variation of Rumplestiltskin.
Go back to the << LDS Activity Ideas Main Menu >> to find hundreds more activities! Our list is sorted by auxilary, type, and keyword. So easy to use!

#1 Hi...we work under the forest
Hi...we work under the forest service and ask that you not bring beads (or other small plastic items) into the forest where small critters can ingest them and thus cause them harm. Of course the lost and scattered items from bracelet/necklace making never break down...and look very much like a tasty morsel to the forest friends. Outdoor camping is not too "wild" with all of the tinsel, glitter, sequins and beads lying about. Please try to keep it natural. Thanks!
