Today I taught #dandc38 lesson 43. The manual suggests explaining how the different parts of a house or building each serves a needed purpose (to illustrate, that each person in a ward or family serve a vital role). I chose, instead, to use parts of a pizza (crust, sauce, cheese, pepperoni etc.). I cut colored paper to represent these items. We constructed a pizza and talked about how “the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts”, and how pizzas aren’t as good without all the parts. The kids totally related to this and had fun deciding who could be the crust and who could be the cheese etc. At the end I surprised them with actual pizza. I didn’t know pizza could be such a hit, so early in the morning.
