Little Lds Vinyl: Grand Opening Of My Etsy Shop!

Downloaded from: http://littleldsideas.blogspot.com/2013/10/little-lds-vinyl-grand-opening-of-my.html

I finally decided to open up an Etsy shop for my LDS vinyl.

I felt that having it on my blog wasn’t very user friendly. So, after thinking about it for some time I decided to just do it!
I only have 2 items in my shop right now, but hopefully I’ll get some more items listed in there soon. Here’s what I have!
I have my ‘Child of God’ vinyl that is great for the 2013 theme. If you didn’t use these for Birthday gifts this year they would make great Christmas gifts for each of the children.
Child of God Blocks Tutorial: To create your own Child of God Blocks you will need:Wood: 2 X 4” board (they come in different lengths)Sand PaperPaintVinyl
First you will need to cut your wood into square pieces. A 2 X 4″ isn’t actually 2 inches by 4 inches,  it’s 1 ½ X 3 ½”. You will be cutting your blocks into 3 ½ inch squares. You can do this yourself or ask the nice guys at the lumber yard where you are buying your wood to cut it for you. :)
Once your blocks are cut you will need to sand them down so they’re nice & smooth.Wipe of the blocks to remove any dust and get ready to paint.
Next you will paint your blocks. You can use normal paint or try some Spray Paint. By using spray paint you can lay out several blocks and paint them all at once.Make sure to do 2-3 coats of paint, so the blocks are evenly covered.
Once the paint is dry you can apply your vinyl!Place each block into a bag and top it off with some ribbon.

2014 Birthday or Christmas Gift IdeaAnd for this year’s theme I have come up with something as well. When I first found out the 2014 theme I wasn’t sure what to do for Birthday/Christmas gifts. But then I thought maybe the children would like to have their very own picture frame with a picture of their family.
I went to Michael’s {Hobby Lobby or any other craft store should have these as well} and bought some of their $1 picture frames.
Michael’s had 2 different sizes of frames. There were the rectangular frames that fit a 4X6″ photo & they had square frames that fit a 3.75X3.75″ picture.
Then I got to work and painted the frames. I decided to spray paint my frames to save time. And they just have a nicer finish when spray painted. I tried painting with paint and a brush and it left streaks. After the paint dried I sanded the edges a bit and rubbed it with some Distress Ink {this can also be found at craft stores}.I then applied my vinyl and added some raffia  to one side of the frame. You could use any type of ribbon or add a cute flower {for the girls of course}.Then just add a picture of the child’s family or leave it empty and have them add it when they get home.If you are going to supply the picture of the family you could ask each family to bring a picture to church or take a picture of each family.
What do you think? I think the children would love to have a picture of their family to put in their home or in their room.
