Dispensation Heads

According to L. Tom Perry “Accept the challenge” Ensign, Aug 2002, the heads of the dispensations are: Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus Christ (Dispensation of the Meridian of TIme) and Joseph Smith (Dispensation of the Fullness of Times). It was really hard to find something definitive. Doesn’t mean there weren’t more prophets during these dispensations, but these are the heads of the dispensations.
Please let me know if you find anything different.

There are also Nephite and Jaredite dispensations. And undoubtedly there will be more when the records of the lost tribes are revealed. www.lds.org/bc/content/shared/content/images/gospel-library/manual/32489/32489_000_004_06_dispensation.pdf

Hi Janet, I just posted a link to the Old Testament student manual chart on Gospel Dispensations. In my class I had my kids memorize this goofy sentence: An Elephant Named Abraham Munched Jiggly Jello. The first letter of each word helps them be able to remember the head of each dispensation. It’s silly, but it worked for us. :)

I downloaded Sharra’s anJenny’s handouts. I’m going to make a back to back handout. Not sure when the best day is to introduce this. Any ideas? (I’m on D&C 25 in my lesson schedule)

Linette, I introduced it early on when we were learning about the Great Apostasy. I really think this discussion would be appropriate anywhere, but section 29 discusses the Second Coming, so I think you could easily give an overview of the dispensations and then lead into the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times and then the Millennium/Second Coming.
